About the role

IRGPH is seeking highly motivated Modeling Research Junior Assistants to join its research team for three (3) months. The internship aims to provide advanced training and practical research experience in mathematical and epidemiological modeling of infectious diseases, while contributing to ongoing projects on transmission dynamics, forecasting, and control of priority diseases.

Scope of work

Under the supervision of senior researchers at IRGPH, the intern will:

  • Conduct literature reviews on infectious disease transmission and control strategies
  • Contribute to disease forecasting and intervention assessment studies
  • Develop and implement mathematical and epidemiological models
  • Support preparation of scientific reports, presentations, and manuscripts
  • Analyse surveillance and epidemiological datasets
  • Participate in regular research meetings and technical discussions
  • Perform statistical and computational analyses using programming tools
