Signing a collaborative agreement between the Kenya Medical Research Instute (KEMRI)and Univesity of Burundi (UB)
On 23 September 2022, a high level delegation from Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) lead by the Acting CEO and Director General Prof.Sam Kariuki was visiting the University of Burundi.
Prof Sam was honnoring an invite by Prof. Juma Shabani, Director of the Doctoral School, University of Burundi.The visit aimed at signing a collaborative agreement between the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and the University of Burundi(UB). The entourage paid a courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Burundi, Prof. Audace Manirambona followed by a debrief by the Director, School of Doctoral Studies, Prof. Juma Shaban.

This partnership is going help the University of Burundi to strengthen biomedical research, build capacity in the biomedical field, and contribute to knowledge generation. Furthermore, the collaboration agreement will allow both parties to collaborate on research projects of common interest and be able to mobilise research funding.
